Christmas joys!

I've become addicted to blogging, and digital scrap booking! I didn't think there was anything that would interest me more than sewing, but I am really enjoying the blog thing. I've started this blog for all my sewing friends. I want to keep track of projects I'm working on, and have a place to share things I've done in the past.

First things first. I want to show off my new Christmas present from my Mom. MOM is WOW upside down, and my Mom is no exception! She always makes the most wonderful Christmas presents. I am amazed at her talents, and her sacrifice in giving away so many wonderful creations. I fell in love with this buggy barn quilt at Bernina Quilt and Sew in Logan, and wanted to do it really bad. Well, out of the kindness of her sweet heart she made it for me. I love it! I can't wait to get it hung up. Unfortunately, it's a tad big for my green wall, so I have to find another home for it. (Don't worry I will!)

Buggy Barn's "Let it Snow" quilt. Pieced by Dot Larson and quilted by Red Rooster 2008.
Even the label is stinkin' cute. Thanks Mom. I love you!

I made Kevin a quilt for Christmas. Everyone needs their own quilt in this house. I put black "minky" on the back, so it's super soft. I achieved "misty eyes" from him when he read the label. It said, "For my wonderful husband, Kevin, so he can always be "wrapped" in my love. This patriotic quilt is in honor of his 20 year military career in the 191st UTANG. You made it! Retired November 5, 2008." I love you honey!

"Just Can't Cut It" Pieced by Loraine Jezak. Quilted by Sue Hill 2008

I have a few new cross stitch pieces framed for Christmas. I thought I would share.
Blackbird designs Loose feathers collection finished 2007. Loved stitching this. I worked on it in Florida last year.
Shepherd's Bush "Red Snowman" completed in January 2008.

This is a wall in my stairway that I'm working on filling up. I change out the snowman with seasonal pieces. The hearts are punchneedle a pattern by serendipity gifts, and the other sampler is by the Drawn Thread, "The Sanctuary". This piece took me 3 years to complete, and I finished it in 2007.

Sorry about the bad picture. I really should work on my photography skills!
